Aug 6, 2009Golden Hour

It was Brent who first turned me onto this thing called "Golden Hour". It's the time of day when the sun is no longer an intense white, instead it's a nice orange. It allows photos to be taking in the sunlight without the harsh exposure of normal sunlight. It happens around 6:30-7 in both the morning and night in the summer; I have yet to figure out the time frame in the winter. I thought I'd share with you today some pictures of flowers during this lovely time of day.

Seeing as how I'll be taking photography next year, I was hoping that I could get back into things with the 365 project. So far, it's been working. I've taken a lot more pictures than I have in the past few months. These Golden Hour pictures is the thing that really makes me excited about photography. Let's hope I can get some of these pictures for my class next year.

The only photo that was edited for color was the first. The rest were just resized. :)

Have any of you heard of Golden Hour, and if you have, have you shot during it? I'd love to see some of the pictures you got.

    Those are amazing! Were they macro shots?

    That's very interesting! I'll have to try that out. As you know, though, there's nothing around here that's worth taking pictures of, especially on my property.
@Ethan
: Mhmm. The only time I take my camera off macro is when I'm shooting people. :)
@Hannah
: I found these up the street/on the street next to me. I don't know if you're mom would let you walk around because ~zomg~ it's getting dark. :P
