Jun 14, 2009A New Look
The 20 pixel Georgia font of my old layout was starting to bother me, so I decided to whip this layout up! It may not be my best work, but I think it's pretty good. The only thing that I wish I had done a better job on was the header. It's kinda just a gradient and some text. One thing that I really like is the icons from pinvoke. I noticed on their site that there was a new version of the icons, and decided to redownload them and use them for this layout. It really helped it.
Well, that's all I really have to say about my new layout. I never have anything good to say when I finish a new layout. I'll leave you to comment about it.

Suggestions:
1. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH PADDING AT THE TOP?
Yes, the capslock was necessary. It looks really weird.
2. The links just look like bolded text, so add an underline or something?
3. There is also a lot of padding at the bottom.
Other than that, it's nice.
@Clem
: Oops, when you have a huge resolution the 100 pixels of padding doesn't look that weird. I shrunk it down to 5% so it doesn't look too small on larger screens. I also took your other suggestions and made the links have the dotted border without having to hover over. Thanks!

There's also a ton of padding for the content (top and left) and the navigation (top and right)... But it really does look nice! Very sleek

Thanks for the comment.

The comments are very confusing to read. You ought to space them out. Also, the "Name said..." bit would be better above the comment.
I think you should reconsider sorting the padding out. It may seem alright on your screen, but it may not for others. I have a 1800x800 resolution which is quite large, however the padding still looks off. All it takes is a simple "margin: auto 0;". Placing that into your container styling will centre the layout.
I do like the header, especially the colour.

I dislike how you have all this space for navigation but you never use it. Also, I agree with Sarah. The comments confused me a bit and I when I was reading them, I thought, "Why would Clem talk to herself?" Move them to the top, please.
Other than those things, this layout is very nice.

But the content area's padding is so unbalanced; there's a lot of white space on the left but a regular amount of space on the right

I see nothing wrong with more padding on the top and left of the content. I actually really like it. Maybe I'm just weird.
If Vasili were to even it out there would either be too much padding or too little. But I only say that because I've seen it the way it is now and like it. I'm a betch.
The unbalanced thing just kinda works here.

I like it :). It's simple, but it's nice. Though, I do agree with Kaylee - the padding is really odd. I don't like how there's a ton of space on the left, with an unbalanced amount of space on the right, either. Symmetry, please :P.

Looks great, but I agree with everyone else. If you're going to have "Name said..." you should put it at the top. If you want to keep it at the bottom, change the wording!
