May 27, 2009A Busy Day Full of Dilated Eyes and Mighty Mice

A couple months ago, I asked my mother to make an eye doctor appointment because I hadn't had one for five years. So today, it came and I had to do all the normal stuff when you go to the eye doctor: they attempt to say my name (and they did it well this time!); then they make me do some boring tests, read this, can you read that?. What they did next they had never done to me before; they checked the pressure of my eye. In order for the to do that, they take this pen looking thing and stab (really they just touch your eyelid) your eye. After they dilate your eyes, you wait in agony in the waiting room while you slowly become blinded.

Once the doctor (who is a high school friend of my mom) checked my eyes and told my mom that my eyes weren't good enough to drive, we went over to the glasses place. I tried on about six pairs of glasses until I finally found one that I liked. It has a dark gray/blue frame and unfortunately wasn't covered by my insurance. :X However, I need them so we bought them, and we should be able to pick them up in the next five days.

With the doctor out of the way, I wasn't go to go back to school and attempt to see the board with blurred vision, so instead we went to the mall! I had brought along with me my mighty mouse from the iMac we got for Christmas. The scroll wheel on it wasn't working and it was really annoying when you're trying to scroll down the page. The people in the Apple store were very nice and quickly replaced the mouse with a brand new one. I can't believe how well this one scrolls, it's amazing!

For the next threeish hours, my mother and I were just going from store to store. We ended up at Aeropostale because my mom wanted to look at what they had. Though, I was the one who walked out with a t-shirt (my first Aeropostale item ever!). Then we ended up in Teavana where we spent more money on some chai tea. I never knew how expensive tea was until now. D:

For our final stop, we went to the Verizon store. I don't really use my phone that much, but it would be nice to have a better texting phone seeing as how we have unlimited texting. My younger brother was also going to need a phone was middle school and it was a good time to upgrade a phone and add a new line. There was a special today which allowed you to buy one Alias 2 and get another free. In the end, we ended up getting these — one for me and one for my brother. :)

I used to be scared of going to the eye doctor. I always thought that they were going to give me a shot in my eye or something. Every time he would check my eyes I'd freak out because I thought he was going to stab me :/.

I used to get extra credit every day in French class for wearing an Aeropostale hoodie, seeing as it's French and means air mail. Aeropostale used to be the only thing that I wore until the fad around here sort of died out. Now I could care less what brand it is haha.

New phone? Awesome, that's always fun. Sounds like you had an eventful day nonetheless.

Oooh welcome to the club for glasses people. If you've been following my twitter, you'd probably realize my obsession for Asian Celebrities with glasses.

In general, guys with glasses = hawt :D

I can't wait for my next eye checkup. I want new glasses. I've been spending too much time in front of the computer so my eyesight's getting worse :(
